About Our Product

Nanook Stoneworks figurines are made from a product called hydrostone, along with specially guarded formulas that include soapstone and Mount Saint Helen’s volcanic ash, making the product unique in the industry.

The moulds used are also unique in that they are a continuous mould with no seams, unlike most products today that use a split mould that joins two halves together producing a seam on the product.

A hands-on labour intensive manufacturing process is used in order to give these unique pieces a distinctive look and feel that replicates original Inuit soapstone carvings. No two pieces are exactly alike, even though they come from the same mould.

Finally, our proudest claim is that this is a Made in Canada product. Unlike most souvenir and giftware products these days, which are made outside of our country and imported with a maple leaf stuck on it, our pieces are made entirely in our production facility located in Penticton, British Columbia.
